Sestra Founder: Adina Wiens
Sestra Care Solutions was founded in 2017 by aged care nurse, Adina Wiens. Constantly faced with unsuitable clothing options for her residents, Adina sought to create a clothing line featuring comfortable, functional and beautifully designed garments – suitable for those with restricted physical or cognitive ability. The inspiration behind Adina’s brand is the memory of her late sister, Lydia, a seamstress herself who raised Adina in the ways of sewing, hard work, and love and care for others. ‘Sestra’ is a Russian word meaning ‘sister’ and pays homage to both Adina’s Russian roots and the lessons her sister taught her.
Specifically designed for those adapting to new lifestyle needs, Sestra Care Solutions seeks to enable individuals to continue to live with dignity, whilst they may still require care.
Garments from Sestra Care Solutions are functional, comfortable, and beautifully designed, to provide suitable clothing options during a time where clothing choice often drastically declines. The unique cross-back design empowers individuals and their carers to dress and undress effortlessly. The range includes ladies and men’s daywear and nightwear garments in a range of tasteful patterns and colours and are suitable for both private and commercial care environments. Using fabrics that are gentle on delicate skin, the garments protect the skin and minimise pressure points. Having access to these beautifully designed cross-back garments empowers individuals to maintain their independence and wellbeing.
We give an option of safer, simpler methods of dressing individuals requiring short and long-term care. Comfort and care are priorities for family members or a carer. We seek to enable individuals to continue living with dignity and a degree of independence, despite the changes in lifestyle needs.
Due to the functional nature of our garments, they are suitable for a wide range of customers.
